Designer

Experience:

1) 4 to 6 years hands on experience working in automotive electrical/electronic components (experience includes Bench-marking, Modules Packaging & Sheet metal/Plastic bracket design to mount components) like Audible Vehicle Alert System (AVAS), Electronic Vehicle Control Module, Combined Sensor Module (CSM), Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Hands Free Module, Horn, Speakers, Antenna, Battery etc.,

2) Extensive working experience in CATIA V5 (GSD, Part Modelling, Sheet metal, Drawing & Assembly). Knowledge on 3DEXPERIENCE will be added advantage.

Required skills :

• Good experience in performing bench-marking studies & packaging studies on electrical/electronic components and defining their locations in vehicle.
• Should be able to independently design attachment scheme or bracket (Sheet metal /Plastic brackets) design for electrical/electronic components and to take technical decisions with Design & Release (D&R) Engineers and suppliers as required.
• Good design knowledge in Sheet metal parts/Plastic parts using CATIA V5.
• Excellent CAD skill in Wiring harness development & wiring optimization studies. Sound knowledge in harness behaviour study using simulation tools and harness drawing creation.
• Proficient in deciding manufacturing feasibility (tooling knowledge), assembly and service feasibility.
• Collaborate closely with regional Electrical & Electronics Systems Engineering (EESE) team to support requests and develop engineered solutions.
• Conversant with Vehicle Architecture, Vehicle Aggregate Groups, Sub- Groups, Systems and Sub- Systems.
• Good Knowledge in Teamcenter Engineering & Vismockup.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.
• Strong communication skill is mandatory to work with Program Stake Holders & Suppliers.
• Highly committed and motivated. Should be a self-starter.

Education Qualification:

Degree in Mechanical/Automobile/Electrical Engineering from reputed institution.

Responsibilities:

• Understand the requirements and independently design attachment scheme or bracket (Sheet metal /Plastic brackets) design for electrical/electronic components and take technical decisions with Design & Release (D&R) Engineers and suppliers as required.
• Develop 3D Harness in CATIA V5/3DX considering Vehicle & EDS requirements. Create 2D Harness Drawings in E3 Zuken, if needed.
• Logical & Physical Schematics development.
• Collaborate closely with regional Electrical & Electronics Systems Engineering (EESE) team to support requests and develop engineered solutions.
• Represent your part in various forums and be the primary contact.
• Responsible for design review, technical review with cross functional team on projects.
• Work planning & execution to meet the GPDS timeline.
• Actively promote and maintain a safe, respectful and inclusive work environment.
