The Role

We're looking for a strong, hands-on designer who understands both creativity and construction - someone who can think like an artist, execute like a technician, and collaborate like a builder.

You'll work closely with our production team and artisans to develop silhouettes, embroidery, and prints that blend heritage and modernity - while also contributing to sourcing and material innovation.

Responsibilities

• Research and design new silhouettes aligned with Kochi Kochu's aesthetic and storytelling.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fashion or textile design, with proven work on contemporary or luxury collections.
• Develop prints and surface artworks, including placement layouts, scale, and graphic design refinement.
• Create embroidery sheets for handwork teams with detailed references for stitches, beads, and color palettes.
• Prepare comprehensive tech packs with fabric details, construction notes, and embroidery/print specifications.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to source fabrics, trims, and materials across key Indian hubs (Jaipur, Delhi, Surat, Banaras, Kerala, etc.).
• Collaborate with pattern makers and the sampling team to ensure accuracy from sketch to final garment.
• Support creative direction for visual storytelling, campaigns, and lookbooks.

Ideal Candidate

• Background in fashion or textile design, with strong technical understanding.
• Skilled in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar design software.
• Experience in print development, embroidery mapping, and surface design detailing.
• Preferably a graduate from design schools such as NID, NIFT, FIT, London College of fashion, parsons or similar reputed institutions known for design and craftsmanship.
• Hands-on understanding of sourcing networks and craft clusters across India.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced studio.
• Based in Jaipur or open to relocation for a full-time, in-house role.
