We are seeking a skilled Advanced Embedded Engineer dedicated to developing advanced embedded systems for our safety-critical products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in embedded system design, functional safety requirements adherence, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in compliance with relevant safety standards such as IEC61508 Safety Integrity Level 2 and performance standards EN 60079-29-1
KEY RESPOSIBILITIES:
- As part of Industrial Safety Engineering group, you will be one among the team designing new products for Industrial Safety Line of business with key focus on Fixed gas and Flame detection sensor solutions and Controllers
- Lead the development of embedded software and systems, ensuring they meet functional safety requirements. Design and implement new features in embedded platforms, managing the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to implementation and testing.
- Develop and execute test plans for embedded software, including unit tests, integration tests, and system tests. Use automated testing frameworks and tools to ensure high test coverage and effective testing strategies. Analyze testing results to identify and resolve issues swiftly.
- Work with operations and supply chain to ensure manufacturability of the product and participate in production test equipment development and design transfer activities.
- Additional responsibilities include proof of concept firmware development, data acquisition software applications, technical report generation, documentation & progress reporting.
- Maintain high quality documentation of the entire design as required by quality organization.
- Perform hands-on work in the lab, as required.
QUALIFICATION: A Bachelor degree in Electronics Engineering with minimum 5 to 9 years of experience in product development
Essential qualifications
- Proficiency and hands on experience in C and C++ programming
- Exposure to minimum one NPI product launch end to end
- The candidate should have experience in firmware development for Cortex M3/M4 and ARM V7 on cross compilers like IAR Embedded Workbench, Eclipse, and MPLAB.
- The candidate should be proficient in working with wired communication protocols such as HART, Modbus and have hands-on experience with drivers like V4L, SPI, I2C, WDT, and TIMER.
- Experience in developing secure embedded devices and deploying product security requirements is essential. Additionally, the candidate should have experience running web servers and developing scripts on the same.
- Experience with Wi-Fi/BLE-based middleware, Bitbucket, SVN, GIT, and JIRA is also required.
- Expertise in using tools like J-Link (JTAG), J-Trace (Instruction Tracing) etc.
- Experience in Linux application and middleware development, as well as a good understanding of ARM architecture and multi-threaded software development and debugging1.
- Development of Bootloader and Flash write routines for Firmware Upgrade. Understanding of Secure boot concepts is desired.
- Strong analytical skills and be able to develop & implement algorithms in Python/MATLAB.
- Ability to statistically analyse data with software tools like MS Excel/MATLAB/Minitab
- Strong understanding of signal processing techniques and advanced mathematical concepts, including linear algebra, calculus, and statistical analysis
