Job Title: Engineering Lead - AI & Machine LearningLocation: BangaloreDepartment: AI EngineeringReports to: Head of AI / CTOJob Summary:We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Engineering Lead - AI to head our AI development initiatives. In this role, you will lead a cross-functional team of software engineers and machine learning experts to build and deploy scalable, intelligent systems that drive innovation across our product line.Key Responsibilities:Lead the development and deployment of AI/ML-based applications and platforms
Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to translate models into production-ready code
Define and enforce best practices in AI/ML system architecture, data pipelines, and model lifecycle
Manage engineering timelines, code quality, testing, and documentation
Drive integration of AI features into core products, ensuring performance and scalability
Guide the team through design reviews, technical mentoring, and code reviews
Stay current with the latest research and advancements in AI, ML, and related fields
Work closely with stakeholders (Product, Design, Business) to align AI initiatives with strategic goals
Requirements:
Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field6+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role
Strong understanding of ML frameworks (e.G., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)Proficient in Python and one or more backend languages (e.G., Java, Go, Node.Js)Experience with deploying AI models in production (REST APIs, model serving, MLOps)Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD tools
Deep knowledge of AI model lifecycle, versioning, and monitoring
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience in NLP, computer vision, generative AI, or reinforcement learning
Exposure to LLMs, vector databases, or real-time inference
Understanding of ethical AI principles and data privacy concerns
Experience working in a startup or fast-paced product-driven environment
