We are hiring on behalf of one of our esteemed client in the Higher Education sector. Role Overview The Dean – School of Law will serve as the chief academic and administrative leader for the college, responsible for advancing its mission of academic excellence, impactful research, and strong community engagement. The Dean will guide faculty recruitment and development, ensure high-quality teaching and learning, strengthen research capacity, enhance student outcomes, and position the College of Law as a leading destination for legal education in India. This role requires a seasoned academic leader with a strong research background, deep knowledge of legal education, and proven success in building institutional reputation and industry linkages. Key Responsibilities 1. Academic Leadership Provide visionary leadership to establish a culture of academic excellence, integrity, and innovation. Develop and update curricula that reflect evolving legal landscapes, emerging fields, and industry needs. Foster faculty engagement in research, publications, and professional practice. Recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier legal scholars and practitioners. 2. Administrative Management Oversee budgets, staffing, facilities, and operational efficiency of the College of Law. Implement policies and procedures in compliance with institutional, regulatory, and accreditation requirements (including BCI norms). Promote an inclusive and collaborative work environment among faculty, staff, and students. 3. Strategic Planning & Growth Develop and execute a multi-year strategic plan. Identify growth areas in legal education, including interdisciplinary and global programs. Expand academic offerings in specialized domains such as technology law, corporate law, environmental law, and international arbitration. 4. Research Excellence Strengthen the research profile of the College by fostering funded research projects, legal clinics, and policy initiatives. Encourage faculty and student participation in national and international conferences and publications. Build partnerships with think tanks, law firms, and global institutions for collaborative research. 5. External Relations & Community Engagement Represent the College to alumni, legal associations, government bodies, and corporate legal departments. Develop strong employer networks for student internships and placements. Build partnerships with bar associations, judiciary members, and public policy institutions to enhance the College’s visibility and influence. 6. Student Development & Placement Drive initiatives to improve student placement rates and career readiness. Support the establishment of moot court programs, legal aid clinics, and experiential learning opportunities. Leverage alumni and employer relationships to expand job and internship pipelines. 7. Rankings & Accreditation Develop and implement a targeted roadmap to position the College of Law among the Top 10 law schools in India within a defined timeframe. Lead efforts to achieve and maintain national and international accreditations along with recognitions in rankings (e.g., NAAC, NIRF, QS, THE rankings). Qualifications & Experience Education: Ph D in Law (or equivalent doctoral qualification) from a recognized institution. Experience: Minimum 15 years in legal academia with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (Dean, Associate Dean, or equivalent). Demonstrated success in strategic planning, academic program development, and faculty leadership.
