Job Description:

Job Family Definition:

Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions include applying intermediate level of subject matter expertise to solve common technical problems. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and recommendations for appropriate action. Works independently within an established framework and with moderate supervision.

Juniper is looking for experienced Networking/Platform/Embedded software development engineers with 4-7 years of experience for various positions with the Cloud Ready Data Center Platform Software Development team.

What youll do:

Be part of the team which is helping shape Junipers vision of next generation Cloud Ready Data Center Switching products and solutions. 

You will be part of a high-performance team that owns, designs, and develops Platform & System Software for Junipers QFX switching product series.

The work-environment is fast paced, where youll get the opportunity to learn and work on cutting-edge technology.

What you need to bring:

BTech/MTech/MS in Computer Science or Electronics/Telecommunication Engineering

Strong C and C++ programming, Object-oriented analysis & design, data structures and system debugging skills

Proficiency with Linux device drivers, System bring up, and Linux kernel

Deep understanding of Hardware & System-level design for Carrier-class software development

Deep understanding of one or more of the following areas:

·        CPU complex (x86), Chassis management

·        Ethernet Interfaces (1Gig to 400G+)

·        Optics (SFP, QSFP, QDD, OSFP etc.)

·        MACSec

·        PCIe, SPI, I2C, MDIO

·        FPGA, CPLD, Flash Drivers

Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills for resilient and performance enhancing software development is a must.

Prior experience in working with large code-bases preferred.

Background in Networking/Embedded Platform-software development preferred.

Working knowledge of Python and shell scripting desired.
