Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead – Backend to lead and scale our backend engineering team. In this role, you will drive technical design and implementation across multiple charters, mentor engineers, and ensure delivery of robust, high-performance systems that power our fintech platform.

You will work closely with product, design, and data teams to architect backend solutions that are reliable, secure, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of backend engineers, driving design, development, and delivery of high-quality software.
• Manage one or more backend charters independently end-to-end — from planning to deployment.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to team members.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, frontend engineers, and data teams to deliver scalable and well-integrated solutions.
• Define best practices for coding, testing, and performance optimization.
• Contribute to system architecture discussions and long-term technical vision.
• Ensure reliability, availability, and scalability of backend systems.

Skills & Experience Required

• 6–9 years of experience in backend development with strong exposure to distributed systems and API design.
• Proven experience managing or leading a small to mid-sized engineering team.
• Strong programming fundamentals with expertise in at least one backend language or framework.
• Experience with Node.Js and/or Python is a plus (we are tech agnostic).
• Sound understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL), system design, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
